What we’re talking about today are the unspoken rules of casting.
You know… the ones in the official Casting Rules For Actors Handbook.

𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙨𝙩. 🙊
Folks: 𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕟𝕠 𝕣𝕦𝕝𝕖𝕤 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕒 𝕤𝕦𝕔𝕔𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕗𝕦𝕝 𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕔𝕒𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕣.
This industry is filled with conflicting opinions, get-rich-quick-schemes, and promises of you booking your first pilot in 6 weeks, all for the incredible price of… 𝘠𝘖𝘜𝘙 𝘓𝘐𝘍𝘌 𝘚𝘈𝘝𝘐𝘕𝘎𝘚.
Now, there might be some golden nuggets within some of these opportunities, but it’s important to remember that you will absolutely hear one person tell you to do one thing and your agent the opposite.
𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘰𝘬.
It’s important to learn self sufficiency and how to implement things you learn that are right for you.
Pro tip: one person’s advice isn’t going to work for everyone.
𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙤𝙠 𝙩𝙤𝙤.
You’re an actor because your instincts are superb. Trust those instincts.
Understand how the process works, use the education you are given, and make the best choices for yourself.
If you are doing the core work properly, chances are these “choices” you’re lamenting over don’t. matter.
𝘗𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦.
Focus on what matters. Trust your instincts. And do what makes the most sense for YOU.
And remember…
There are no rules.
