Monday Myth Debunkers: You Need A Website.

This might be one of our top 10 biggest questions:

β€œπ˜‹π˜° 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘦π˜₯ 𝘒 𝘸𝘦𝘣𝘴π˜ͺ𝘡𝘦?”

The TLDR version? 𝗑𝗼, π˜†π—Όπ˜‚ 𝗱𝗼 π—»π—Όπ˜.

Remember: you are (probably) already paying for an acting website that houses all of your materials (Actor’s Access).

And we are primarily going to be viewing your materials via Actor’s Access alone (it’s Breakdown Services for us).

Unfortunately, AA does charge by the minute (we truly wish this was not the case), so this may influence some actors to house their updated materials on their website.

There are a couple of cost-effective options:

1. ONLY update your reel on your AA. Don’t worry about the clips. We mostly only have time to click on 1 thing. And if we see a reel as an option, you can bet we’re likely only going to click on that.

2. Upload your updated reel to YouTube or Vimeo and use that link in the submission notes (agents do this all the time). Let us know this is a link to your updated reel so that we know it’s something we should be clicking on.

Most importantly, your time is 𝙫𝙖𝙑π™ͺπ™–π™—π™‘π™š. Your time is π™₯π™§π™šπ™˜π™žπ™€π™ͺ𝙨.

Please make sure you are spending that time on things that are going to result in favorable outcomes.

Spending 3 hours on Squarespace templates instead of auditing an acting class or reading a script, probably isn’t the best use of your time.
