Why this exists

Ramani Leah
Founder of The Casting Director's Cut

Early in her career, actors kept asking Ramani for her opinion on their reels. What she found was that most of them did not understand what a reel is for, and did not have footage that showed what they were capable of.

Imagine you are putting on a digital showcase for every agent, manager and casting director in town. What would you want them to see?

That question is why this service exists. If your answer is "I do not have footage that shows what I am capable of," we will make it so that you do. Your casting director will not approve the start of editing until they feel your footage shows your ability. We call that our Best Work Policy.

Once the footage is right, your reel is cut the way casting offices prefer. There is a preference among us, and we talk about it frequently. Our hope is that The Casting Director's Cut becomes the start of a new industry standard for reel editing.
