🎬 DID YOU KNOW? California finally just stepped up its film game in a substantial way.
Their new $750M tax credit program (as of 2024) puts them back in the spotlight alongside powerhouse production states like Georgia.
The percentage of what production companies can get back (up to 25% of what they spend on local crew, vendors, and facilities) (as of 2024) hasn’t changed much but the amount of productions that can claim this program definitely has.
With this new program, California is now #2 in the nation for the biggest pot of tax incentives (still behind Georgia whose cap is unlimited).
Still, this will be game-changer for indie filmmakers and major studios alike and ensures on a certain amount of production taking place each year in California.
