Monday Myth Debunkers: In Order to Succeed…

This might be our biggest myth of all.

But first, here are a few things we don’t want you to be confused about:

YES, the time and energy you put into your career will yield more favorable results

YES, you should make the things that are important to you (your acting career included) ONE of your priorities.

YES, other people will rely on you to make acting {A} priority (your team, productions hiring you, etc.)

Life ebbs and flows.

Especially this year #𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦

There are a few things that acting should never take priority over. In no particular order, they are:

1. Your family
2. Your health
3. Your happiness/mental health
4. Your safety

Not sure who needs to hear this today but

𝕐𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕛𝕠𝕓 𝕕𝕠𝕖𝕤 𝕟𝕠𝕥 𝕕𝕖𝕗𝕚𝕟𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕖.

If acting brings you inexplainable happiness and creative fulfillment, ABSOLUTELY, go get yourself some delicious artistic joy.

But you CAN have an acting career and have other interests and priorities. You can… 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥.

PSA: If you need some time off from acting for personal reasons and someone gives you a hard time about it, that person is not on your team. Remember that.

Acting will always be here. Storytelling will always be here. Your creative bug isn’t going to fade.

And you’ll be a better artist for taking care of YOURSELF first.

Who are you besides actor?
