On today’s #didyouknow…
Did you know the way in which we watch your self tapes? We’re not watching them on the big screen.
Or even full screen, for that matter.
When we watch your uploaded tapes from Ecocast, they span across approximately 3 actors in a list (swipe to see the arrow).
It takes up a fraction of our computer screens (unless we hit the full screen button of course, but who has time to click another button?!)
The point of this for you is this:
Don’t worry so much about how high definition your tape is or a minor knock of the camera etc.
There is a lot of leeway.
And something else to consider:
We may be watching on our computers for the most part, but we’re not the final decision makers.
Producers, showrunners, directors, and studio/network executives are.
And who knows the way in which they are watching your tapes!
We send them clickable links that they are able to view from their computers, phones or tablets.
They could very well be watching these tapes on their phone which will, no doubt, bring the resolution down even further (especially if they are in a spotty wifi area).
Yes: make sure your self tape set up is setting you up for success so that we can clearly see & hear the choices you’re making. But don’t stress that much further.
These tapes are being watched quickly and with little time to scrutinize.
