You may not realize it, but you could be auditioning with “dummy” sides.
Dummy sides are sides that are 𝙣𝙤𝙩 part of the film script or episode.
They could be sides from another previously aired film/TV show—they could be sides written by one of the writers specifically for the audition—they could even be sides from the show/film you are auditioning for, but extensively edited that you’d never know.
𝕎𝕙𝕪 𝕕𝕠 𝕨𝕖 𝕦𝕤𝕖 𝕕𝕦𝕞𝕞𝕪 𝕤𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕤?
Dummy sides are used for confidentiality reasons alone.
As much as we want to give you every detail we know about the plot, story arc and character, sometimes, we can’t.
Social media and word of mouth spreads incredibly fast, making spoilers a high risk scenario.
In order to keep things under wraps, we’ll use dummy sides or sometimes just change the names of the main characters.
This can be confusing when it comes to do you doing your homework.
Look for clues and similarities between characters you know from the show (if it’s a series).
If not, do your best with the information you have.
