Actors, I want you to take this pressure-filled thought and squash it to smithereens in 2024.

Stop putting an unnecessary amount of pressure on yourself.

Perfection does not exist in acting, only truth.

Read that again.

And again.

Your character does not care how word perfect you are in this scene.

They don’t care that this is your dream show or opposite your favorite actor.

Truth does not go hand-in-hand with perfection.

But it does lend itself to a pretty bombastic performance.

To go even deeper, this year has been rough for anyone who consider themselves part of the entertainment industry.

Rustiness will happen and it will happen to most of us.

That is OK.

Give yourself grace to feel more disconnected than usual.

And trust that with time and practice, things will once again feel inspiring and natural.

Focus on truth. Not perfection.
