Keep in mind that offers emails/templates can certainly look different from office to office.
Sometimes they are even in the form of an “offer letter,” which is essentially the same thing but with the details in an attachment instead of in the body of an email.
An offer lets the rep/actor know that the actor has been chosen for the role and approved to be hired.
Of course, the initial offer is just the starting point.
If the actor didn’t read for the role, they’ll likely need to read the script to see if it’s something they are interested in pursuing.
If the actor did read for the role, they are likely already pinned at this point and waiting to hear if they are going to get an offer or not.
If interested, the agent will either close or counter. Reps can counter with specific deal points, money or both.
Once both parties agree to the deal points, the deal is considered closed (via written consent) and the actor is committed to the job.
